Wow!  Now Tazewell county has a new command post truck and it was a bargain at around a $250,000.  They spent more money on this stupid truck than my house is worth and their bragging about it?  Does anyone else suspect our local government might have a problem with priorities?

Another rebuttal to the ongoing battle in the Pekin Times about Pekin Gas management’s decision to make people pre-pay for gas.  I HAD to send in my own 2¢ worth as follows:
Re: The voice of reason:

While I agree with some of what Ms. Horn of Clarksville, TN had to say about how Pekin Gas is attempting to solve their problem -- I have to say I think she is missing the point made by myself and others who are “giving them a hard time”.  To be blunt, why should ALL of the customers be punished for the sins of a very few?  I repeat, how can they complain that after making their customers wait on themselves in order to make more money they now want to further inconvenience those customers by requiring them to also pay in advance.  What’s next?  Will we all have to take turns mopping the floors and washing the windows too?  I don’t work at that gas station and I don’t appreciate being required to do THEIR bidding to insure they make more money.  Fortunately I can and do buy my fuel elsewhere now and I think that is the best way to address the problem.  Had everyone refused to pump their own gas back in the 70s, we wouldn’t have this problem today.
I can’t help it, I just can’t pass up an argument!

At around 8:30 this morning Tracey noticed this bird in the tree just north of our sunroom.  We are pretty sure it is a Peregrine Falcon.  It sat in the tree for quite a while, even after Tracey left for work at 9:00 a.m.  It is a beautiful bird and one of the many reasons we so enjoy living out here in the sticks.

Here are some Old Jokes sent to me from my Aunt Jackie.
