I am still fairly disgusted with Tracey’s new boss. She is working Tracey like a rented mule and I just plain don’t like it.
It was almost 7:00 before Tracey got home from work last night and she left at 4:30 this morning to go back to work. It will be 7:00 this evening before she gets home and she will be back tomorrow at 9 a.m. to work until after 10 p.m.
I am going to have a word with the manager of Schnuck’s the next time I go shopping. I didn’t notice while I was there, but either the cashier or the bagger dumped a drippy package of raw meat on top my other groceries. They are going to make somebody really sick someday if they don’t quit doing that.
I also had to set the cashier straight at Kmart. I went there to buy some vitamins and used my credit card. The stupid credit machine asked me for my zip code. I told her I wasn’t interested in participating in whatever data collection that was all about.
She said I had to enter my zip code to use my credit card. I entered 11111 and she about had kittens —— she said it wouldn’t work. It seemed to work just fine as far as I could tell.
She was mumbling something as I left with my purchase. I could care less if it doesn’t work —— they don’t need my zip code to take my money.

Nope, it seems that the Hilton doesn’t have a need for anyone in housekeeping after 5 p.m. Of course, housekeeping is the “department with THE list” of lost articles. I called back and left another message at 10 p.m. telling them to leave me a message on my answering machine today! Hopefully, I’ll have a message when I get home. If not, I’ll be on that phone very quickly!
Thank goodness Andy only has school until tomorrow. They have Thurs. and Fri. off for conferences!
Tracey: I will bother you about Monarch butterflies when “your wings” have calmed down and they’re not like a hummingbird’s wings! I won’t be doing it this year anyway.
There was a marked difference in the tone and quality of our news over a decade ago when the California based Copely (oh so much smarter than us midwestern folks!) bought it out. Now we can look forward to some other region deciding our “local flavor”.

#Memories I would like to mention I got to spend some time with a good friend, Michael Tunis, this morning on the occasion of his last day to punch a clock at Caterpillar. His first full day of retirement will be tomorrow.
We spent some time over coffee at Woody’s in Groveland. We didn’t solve any of the world’s problems permanently but we gave them a going over. We agreed we should repeat this process at least once a month or so. It is an easy agreement to reach and one that I look forward to honoring!
Congratulations Michael, you certainly earned your retirement! And condolences to you Sue now that you will have him underfoot every day!
