I’ve been meaning to mention I think I have solved the sinus headache problem (I think, I hope).

Tracey had some Claritin she had bought for Jake’s allergies and I decided to try that. I have been taking 1 a day for the past week or so and haven’t been awakened with a headache since I started using it.

Heaven knows what bad things it may be doing to me, but I am very happy not to wake up with those nasty headaches every night.

Noah is off to the Neal farm again to try his luck at deer hunting. I hope he gets something! He sure has been trying awful hard I know that.

We haven’t heard anything lately from Tammy about the lost books? They say no news is good news, but somehow I don’t think so in this case.

Tracey had a day off yesterday and she slept in until almost 10 a.m. I was beginning to wonder if I should check in on her when she finally stumbled out into the light of day. I guess that is what days off are for —— sleeping late, wandering around in your jammies and taking afternoon naps.

She had a good day off and did all that. So did I just so she wouldn’t feel all alone in laziness.

I got a letter in the mail from the federal government that has me a bit bummed out. I have been selected to do jury duty in federal court.

I have been nailed for #JuryDuty at least a half dozen times in the past 20 years and I know a lot of people who have never been stuck with it once. The first couple times weren’t so bad until I realized our legal system is such a total sham.

By the time the judge decides what is and isn’t ‘admissible’ he or she has pretty well decided the case for you —— which I think is the idea from the beginning.

Good morning!
In this case, no news is bad news! No luck on finding the American Literature stuff! Bummer!

I do have good news though.....Andy is in FFA and had grain/crop judging last night. There were twelve schools there I think. Andy had a perfect score juding the grain seeds! He brought home a firsy place blue ribbon for sectional grain judging! He goes on to State now! YEA!

He also entered potatoes, sweet potatoes, and a pumpkin that he grew and got “A Ratings” and blue ribbons for them also. He came home just beaming! He was soooooooo excited! I took pictures of Andy with his ribbons and “crops” that I will share with you when I get them developed. (yes, I’m still in the dinosaur age with no digital camera...so shush!)

Well, I’m off today and in my jammies.......what fun!

Have a great day.

Good morning to you Tammy —— sorry to hear about the books. Tell Andy “Atta Boy!” for me. Tremont is so backward they don’t even have FFA. I would guess they don’t want any competition with the one socially acceptable christian organization in town. And yes —— you need to get a digital camera! The money you save on not buying film and having it developed will pay for the camera!

Enjoy your day off! Just so you don’t feel alone —— I will take a day off with you!
MjL 03 Nov 2006, 6:42 a.m.
Oh, that is so kind of you to take a day off with me!

I do have parent/teacher conferences this a.m. with Ashley’s teachers. I DO have to remember to watch my tongue with the first teacher! (kids do all the grading, she sits at the computer and yells out their name and the kids have to say their grade in front of the class...guess I shouldn’t get started!)

The camera: if it’s not broke, don’t fix it....besides, I don’t take as many pics. as I used to when the kids were little.
Tammy 03 Nov 2006, 6:54 a.m.
I know just what you mean about the teacher conference —— that’s why Tracey goes to those. I would probably be escorted from the building by the police after saying what I think about some of the teachers our sons have had (and still have) at that place they call a school in Tremont. Oh —— NOW you got me started! If it wasn’t for caller I.D. I would —— well never mind —— but I would!
MjL 03 Nov 2006, 7:02 a.m.
Yep....I’ve got my tongue all tied down! I will be such a “good little girl” this morning!
Also, let’s hear it for caller id! Couldn’t live without it now!
Tammy 03 Nov 2006, 7:32 a.m.
Tracey made it through her ordeal with the teachers OK and she even had a mouse running back and forth on the floor in the shop class when she was with Ben’s shop teacher. She said it was hard to take anything he said seriously when she was watching a mouse running around behind him.
MjL 03 Nov 2006, 8:04 a.m.
Whew....done! I was a very good girl! Get this though: I get to the first conference and there’s the sign up sheet outside the door. I saw the teacher (who I do NOT like) on her computer. I glanced at the sign up sheet and saw that the school had put me down for Thurs. a.m. instead of Friday. So all of the teachers thought that I was a “no-show” parent yesterday. I explained to all of the teachers and it worked out ok.

The teacher that I don’t like told me that she’s retiring at the end of the year.....YEA! Too bad it wasn’t last year! I’m thinking a retirement gift to “The Babysitter” would be appropriate! She keeps telling them that she’s not a babysitter and that she’s preparing them for High School. With her, science is big packets of worksheets from the 70’s stapled together, grade them in class, yell out your grade while she puts it into the computer. Done with Science for the day! Man, what a “teacher” she is and has been?!

Ok, ok, I’ve got to get off that subject!
Kids and I are going to lunch and celebrate Andy’s victory!
Enjoy the sunshine! What a gorgeous day!
Tammy 03 Nov 2006, 11:23 a.m.
Glad you made it without mishap! Don’t you just love those ‘mistakes’ that we get credit for but we didn’t make. Tracey just found out she needs to make another appointment to get her prescription renewed. The person she was seeing has moved to Peoria. She was told she got a letter explaining that to her and that she was to make a new appointment with the replacement. Not only did she NOT get the letter —— she really isn’t interested in breaking in a new nurse practitioner. Life goes on —— bumpity-bump.
