Global Economy

Our politicians, businessmen and pundits talk about our global economy as if it was something that just came about in the past few years.

This country was discovered because the “Global Economy” of the 1400s was looking for a faster route to trade.

We talk about outsourcing and immigration as if these things never happened before either. How do you suppose the people of America felt when people from China, Africa and Europe were shipped in as virtual or actual slaves to do the bidding of the robber barons of the coal, train, and cotton industries. Now there was an immigration problem.

Our country managed to find more palatable ways to deal with the robber barons, rid us of actual slavery (replaced with wage slavery) and regulate trade for the benefit of not just the rich but for America as a whole.

Now the robber barons make it sound like they HAVE TO use cheaper labor from somewhere else to do our work. And that won’t change until our politicians start working to curb the robber barons —— again.
