We spent some time yesterday getting the snow cleared from the house to the garage. I drove the Blazer up and down the driveway a whole bunch of times to pack down the snow so we could get the other cars out.

The plow had left a pretty good pile at the end of the drive but the Blazer managed to punch through it after a couple tries.

I made a run into Pekin last evening to get some burgers for supper. I had planned on getting groceries yesterday as I usually shop on Friday —— but that didn’t happen. We ended up getting food from Burger King because nothing else was open.

I was amazed to see how little of the road had been cleared and how poorly the intersections were. They didn’t even bother to plow the turn lanes.

My rant yesterday doesn’t even come close to the disgust I have with our governments state and local who can’t even clear the streets of snow anymore. I wouldn’t have expected them to be completely clean by noon yesterday. But they should have been by 6 p.m. and they hadn’t really even made more than one pass at them. Terrible.

Tracey just left for work this morning. I’m not too happy with her about that because she had promised Noah she would go to his karate exhibition this morning. She said she might be able to leave work and go anyway. I sure hope so. I know that place could get along without her for a couple days.

I think I really like this new Senator Jim Webb. Just imagine if everybody treated Duh-bya as he deserves to be treated?

This from Newsweek says a lot.
