I was thinking about what Tammy said yesterday about little kids and whether their parents truly appreciate how fast they grow up.
I can remember a time when we couldn’t wait until Aaron & Ben were out of diapers. And then it was the day they could put their own socks on —— then tie their own shoes.
There were all these milestones we wanted to get past because we had to spend so much time with them. Getting all three boys together and ready to go out the door to some place was a major ordeal.
I often wonder how I would feel if I could go back now and relive one of those days. I think ONE of them would be fun but TEN would get old again in hurry.
When Tracey was working in the hospital she would occasionally end up on the Pediatric floor and get to hold new babies. She would be all excited about holding babies when she got home but she was also absolutely sure she didn’t want to have any more kids to raise.
This must be why grandparenting is so popular? You get to spoil them and send them home.

AMEN! I really don’t know what the “ideal” age would be to go back to now. I guess to put it in a nutshell would be to enjoy every single day that you have with your kids, family, friends, etc.! Let’s face it, you’ll never get to put socks on Ben or Aaron again (or let’s hope not).
Yep, love ’em and leave ’em is what grandparents are for!

That’s why they (whoever they are) say “Hindsight is 20 - 20”. Every age has a unique aspect. I think I most enjoyed the curious years when all they did was ask why.
Although I look forward to grandchildren I shall be patient and wait until our boys get married. I hope.
