I’m having a little trouble with the line of reasoning that says that Congress can get us into a war, but only the President can get us out? I suspect our children and grandchildren will look back upon this time of insanity much as we do the Viet Nam War era. It seems every generation has a period of history when they elect leaders who are permanently out to lunch.

Tracey just discovered yesterday that the clocks in her office are still off an hour. She has been frowning at me for the past 1½ weeks when I ask her why she is so late getting home from work.

I threatened to throw supper out Thursday night because she was so late and she got a little miffed. She told me last evening she finally figured it all out when she discovered “nobody changed her clocks”. Well —— Duh?

This is proof positive of how spoiled she is here at home where we all change the clocks for her. I asked her who the boss was at her clinic.

She said, “I am.”

So I asked her if the boss was responsible for keeping the clocks on the right time?

She laughed and said she guessed so. She took off for Las Vegas the Sunday morning of the time change and didn’t get back to work until the following Thursday. She forgot all about the time change to Daylight Savings Time because of the two-hour change from Vegas time.

So all that time her clinic was running on the right time and she was an hour behind. Go figure.

Don’t ya just love this fair and balanced reporting.

“Nonetheless Democrats pounced late Friday.”
Michael T. 24 Mar 2007, 7:19 a.m.
When the GQP “pounces” the media always make it sound righteous and reasonable. When the Dimocrats seek justice against criminal acts it is portrayed as only political.

The Dimocrats don’t even have a pundit as vile as Coulter or Limbaugh and that is solely because the media outlets wouldn’t dare to give them voice.

Greed has so completely corrupted this country I fear it is beyond redemption.

The back lash begins to unwind. A couple years or even a few months ago this accolade would have been granted to any of the Bush family just for the asking.

Perhaps the tide has turned and people are beginning to see the Bush dynasty for what it truly is —— a bunch of opportunistic political hacks.

The following quote bothers me just a bit regarding the Edwards bout with cancer:

“He’s obviously totally devoted to her, and to the country,” Scherl said. “He said he’d be there for her, and I believe that. As long as she’s feeling well, they should go for it.”

I can’t speak for how devoted he is to his wife, but I can’t equate his political motives as anything for the country but only to be President.

I must admit I don’t like Edwards smarmy phony smile. I find it heart warming that their medical plight can draw so much sympathy, but the cynic in me hesitates to give him political advantage because of it.

I have never given any politician credit for the “devotion to country” card unless they demonstrate it in a big way. I would say Al Gore has probably gone the farthest to do good for the country even at the cost of personal humiliation.

I have seen no similar actions from Edwards. None. Just empty talk. I wish the best for them in her time of medical need, but I would prefer he drop his aspirations to flash that empty grin from the Presidential podium.
