This time tomorrow, I will be seeing blue skies only! Guess Id better start packing today.
Im going to go out on a limb here, but its ridiculous...a law requiring teachers and students to have a moment of silence every morning. Surely, there are better things to worry about -- teachers ACTUALLY TEACHING, students obtaining, understanding and using information, etc.! I could go on and on, but I think Ill turn my thoughts to brighter thoughts!
Rain, rain, rain, go away -- I need to mow!

Good Morning Tammy! You beat me to the keyboard this morning. I slept in until 5:30!
Yes school is out for the summer and the bickering begins. Sometimes Aaron and Ben get along great and sometimes they fight and argue like worst enemies. We seem to have more arguing lately and it drives me CRAZY! (Short drive?)
I certainly hope all you see is blue skies and moderate temperatures. Have a GREAT vacation!
I hadnt gotten to the newspaper yet this morning so I took a quick peek to see what you were talking about. I agree with you. I have always had a problem with this preoccupation with prayer in schools. We especially put up with a boat load of this nonsense since Tremont is so predominantly one religion. Sometimes I think a cult is running our school system the way they go on about the most benign or ridiculous things. I do wish they would spend a little more time teaching actual subjects. We got the grade reports for the year and cant make heads or tails of the GPA on them. They took exactly the same classes and yet the reports are different. I am going to call the school this morning to see if anyone is there and if they can explain the discrepancies to me. Probably not. Our good driver car insurance discount depends on a good GPA and I think they screwed Aarons up.
Have fun mowing! We finished up earlier in the week so dont have to again until Sunday or Monday!

Great picture today!
Yea, you need a PhD to read the GPA ... Morton High is on like a 5 pt. scale and the rest of the world is on 4 pt. scale so you have to convert, etc. Well, Andy has been getting those report cards for 3 years now and I still cant make heads or tails of them! I just look at the final grades in classes and assume all is well! I know, I know, never assume because it makes an A.. out of U and ME! Next year, Ill have 2 GPAs to mind boggle me!

Theres nobody at the school to explain the stupid things so I guess I just send them off to our insurance agent and let her figure it out. Its not like there is that much of a discount either way but it would be nice to be able to understand the stupid things! Thats the trouble with all these better ideas this lame brain Blue Ribbon school district comes up with they sound wonderful at the meeting and make a helluva Power Point presentation but make no damn sense at all in reality. The have their Cumulative Credits figured out to 3 decimal points as if you got partial credits (and you dont). They have a bunch of other gobbledygook figured out to 3 decimal places which make no sense at all. Heres what is says on one them for example:
GP: Credits 3.750 GPA: U 2.6429
Cum: Credits 7.750 GPA: U 3.0333 GP: Credits 4.000 GPA: U 3.2713
Cum: Credits 7.750 GPA: U 2.9447
Keep in mind they had the EXACT same class schedule and credits. I cant even figure out why the 3.750 and the 4.000 numbers dont match if they are the highest GPA possible or what because I know Ben didnt get a 4.000 even though he had real good grades. So if that is the ceiling for GPA why is Aarons only 3.750? Oh Well. Maybe somebody out there can provide a simple answer to these nonsense numbers.

In the dinosaur days, 4.0 meant perfect = As and 3.7 would be B+, but I know its not the same now! I have no idea what those numbers mean....whats U? Undergraduate? Sounds like college!
Good luck! Ill be in the same boat when Andy finally finishes this year!
Hes thinking about taking all 5 finals in one day (Mon. June 11) Sure wish they had that grade point thing/finals over here! Andy is usually on the high honor roll so why bother with finals? In 1 of his AG classes right now, he has a 101% so why does he need a final?!

Yep I spent some time on the web looking up GPA and those numbers were used there as well in conjunction with credit hours. Since these dopes have the credit hours all broke down in quarters I dont know how they figure it. I just tell the boys to do the best they can do to get the paperwork done and we will teach them the real stuff as we go along. I dont want them loose in the world thinking that making poster board presentations is any example of intelligence.
