We finally got Jake to come back in through his door by himself one time yesterday. We still have to shove him through it to get him out. He will stand just outside the door and whine to be let in. All we have to do is get the door started open for him and he will come right through it, but he wont push that little flapper on his own. This is getting frustrating for him and us!
It is getting harder to keep track of our boys now that all three are driving. They were all in and out yesterday to the point we really didnt know who was where without thinking about it. They tell us what they are up to but not always both Tracey & I are told. I can see that eventually this empty nest thing I hear about is going to be both interesting and disturbing. It is so quiet when all 3 of them are out of the house at the same time!

I know I kind of liked it better when the kids were home when the street lights came on....easier to sleep at night too!
Well, the kitchen is now all red! (most of it anyway) I still am deciding what to do between the cupboards and the countertop. Since I decided to paint over the old, super glued wallpaper, I had to use an oil based primer first then 2 coats of paint....whew! Dave sanded the top cabinets yesterday. I spent hours wiping, sweeping up dust! In fact, Im still finding dust! Now to pick the stain too for the new cabinets. It seems we are guys against the gals over here as to which color stain to use. Ive got samples on an old cabinet drawer sitting in an empty cabinet so we can look at it as we go by. Our makeshift kitchen (food) is in boxes in the new room. Makes life interesting when youre hungry!
Well, should I bake zucchini bread & cakes, mow, finish the laundry, get my lesson ready for tomorrow, or search for more dust?! Hmmm...I think there will need to be more of me today!
(COME ON JAKE....YOU CAN DO IT!)

Sounds like a busy Monday! I need to mow grass too. I should have done it Saturday and then yesterday and then well It is still there!
Your new kitchen will be worth all the muss, fuss, bother and dust. When we had the hardwood floors put in they sanded for an entire day and the dust was EVERYWHERE! We just love them now that we have them and they are so much easier to keep clean than carpet or linoleum. Hang in there!
Jake just cant quite get the idea that he can push that flap open by himself. He will sit there with his nose against it and whine. We are working on a new method. We just push his head into the flap and he goes right through. Maybe us holding the flap open was confusing. I dont know, but we would like to get him doing it on his own before we leave on vacation. Otherwise we will have to board him at the vet office and that gets expensive.
