#BreakfastMichaelT Michael T. and I had breakfast together yesterday. I think we had a pretty good discussion once again. It must have been because we got there at 8:00 and it was almost noon before we left!
Once again I think we laid out the resolutions to many of our nation’s problems, but alas nobody was listening, again, so they won’t get implemented. If only either of us could be magically made King for Life —— I don’t know if our country would be better, but it certainly would be different.
Even if we only managed to get back to the original Constitution, etc.

Tracey got her hair cut yesterday afternoon after work. I don’t think she has ever really been satisfied with her hair style.
For all the years I have known her she has cut her hair short and then let it grow and then cut it short again. I think she has grown a bit more at peace with herself over the years but I can remember how frustrated she has been at times over whatever length her hair happened to be.
There are worse things in life than worrying about a bad hair day —— so I no longer offer my opinion one way or the other. I have come to the conclusion I love her anyway —— with or without hair.
One of the things I noticed about almost every other Blog I have looked at is that somewhere they have an “About” section. It is here that the owner/author/webmaster of the Blog explains who they are, etc.
So I spent an hour or so (after my afternoon nap) writing one up for this Blog. You will find the link over there in the blue menu area where it says “About”. I even left a comment section so you can put your own two cents in — but please be nice.
There’s an underlying theme in this discussion the media isn’t telling us. If our government can presume to tax the WORLD wide net —— it can presume to regulate it for business only so Rupert Murdoch and the media moguls like him can control the gateways to the Internets.
Pay the toll or you don’t ride the Information Highway. This is what is called a “foot in the door”. If we can tax it than we can claim it as our own —— and own it.
The GQP run up our national debt to their highest levels with Raygun and now Duh-bya. And they have the unmitigated gall to whine about “tax and spend Dimocrats”.
Sadly many GQP followers don’t even consider reality and they live by these sound bites. The GQP cuts the taxes of the rich and raise the taxes on the other 95% of Americans and people across the country dutifully pay more taxes and believe they got a tax cut because some GQP fraud said so.
We were supposed to get a large tax cut because we bought the #Honda Hybrid car, but the Alternative Minimum Tax cut that by more than half. Even with that tax break and me on a pension —— we paid more taxes than we did when Tracey and I were both working.
I am a Trekkie, maybe one of the originals. When #StarTrek first premiered I was there watching every episode from the first to the last. Same way with The Next Generation and most of the movies. Having said that, I always wished they had cast somebody, anybody, but #WilliamShatner.
What an overblown windbag of ego. I have seen interviews where this guy has explained how Star Trek would never have made it off the ground were it not for him. I personally think they would have eventually won an Emmie for acting or writing if he had never been there!
Howdy! The guys got home from IN last night. It was an EVENTFUL trip! (no, Andy didn’t leave a textbook this time )
The beginning was awful: 2 1/2 hrs. standing in line to register for the FFA convention, Dave feeding quarters into the meter outside where they had parked one of the MHS vans, and then.............
Dave went to put quarters in and the van was gone! It had been towed! So the “lovely” city employees would not let the teacher have the van even though she was with 4 officially dressed FFA members, Dave, one of the MHS Deans and a counselor AND there were 40,000 FFA jackets running around downtown Indianapolis where the city building was located!
She didn’t have registration papers so she couldn’t have the van -- the papers were in the van! The MHS principal had to be called to fax a letter to them.
Then they couldn’t find anything saying that the van was registered in the state of IL and to the high school. Of course, the towing bill and a fine had to be paid. Well, the high school credit card wouldn’t work so the dean had to put it on his personal credit card!
In the meantime, they missed the opening session of the FFA convention! What a racket! If it was me, I’d tell them where to get off and not attend future FFA events there!
But....they made it home safe and sound!

OMiGosh! It sounds to me like a letter writing, email campaign should be started against Indianapolis.
It also sounds like it would be a good idea for MHS to make sure in the future that all the paperwork necessary is on hand for future excursions to bureaucratic zero tolerance cities!
I would be happy to write a few scathing letters and emails if you can give me more information —— like where the convention was held, what hotel, etc. I would start with the FFA and whoever organized this madhouse and make sure no future conventions are held in Indianapolis and that the people in Indianapolis are told about it.
It is impossible to undo what has been done, but it is possible to make them PAY for their callous bureaucracy.
