Tracey has to work late this evening so I have saved the new #StephenKing horror DVD to watch while she is at work. I also have a back-up scary movie in case I have time for two. Nothing like scaring the tar out of yourself on purpose on Halloween!

#Memories Jake and I enjoyed a leisurely walk out to the mail box and back yesterday. What a beautiful Autumn day! I really try hard to soak up the experience for future reference, to “make a memory” so to speak, but it never really plays back like the original. Sort of like a picture of the Grand Tetons, it just isn’t the same.
Still, it is nice to close my eyes and remember the sun on my back, the wind in my face and the smell and whisper of falling leaves. What a day!

I don’t mean to wish higher taxes on the people of Morton, but it is your turn.
We in Tremont just recently managed to beat back the ridiculous tax hike they tried to pass three times to destroy and rebuild the Tremont pool.
Oddly enough they suddenly managed to find the money in the multi-million dollar park budget. How nice! We weren’t so lucky on the recent school referendums. They managed to gouge us for several millions of dollars to build new sports fields, gymnasiums, administration buildings and almost nothing that would benefit the education of our children.
I am just sick of all these tax increases to pad the budgets of the local construction companies and the bureaucrats who feed off of us.
I suspect the current Morton pool could be maintained at a small fraction of the cost, but the bureaucrats want a new pool like Pekin and Tremont. A disgusting waste of money.
IT’S A BOY! New Arrival....a stray cat followed Andy home a couple of weeks ago. We fed it, watered it and left the garage door open for it. It kept coming back more and more so.....last Sat. I captured him, took him to the vet, had him fixed and declawed in the front.
We brought him home last night. The other 2 cats aren’t liking it too much yet. The old senile cat (Dave’s cat) doesn’t pay too much attention to him. Our other stray cat struts her stuff and hisses, etc. It should be an interesting few days until they all get used to everybody! We named him Tugger.
However, I just about lost my “happy home” when Dave paid the bill for all the vet charges yesterday though! WOW...I didn’t realize how expensive it was to adopt an inside cat!

I know it’s not nice to say, but I am glad Aaron is allergic to cats! Otherwise I am afraid we would have one of those too! I don’t mind cats all that much except the cat hair.
It gets all over everything. And I hate cleaning a litter box. Oh —— and their food stinks. And —— well I guess I DON’T like cats after all!
Good luck with the new addition to your family. I hope it doesn’t use your favorite furniture to sharpen his claws!
#Obituary I just received a phone call from good friend Roberta Lee. She just called to let me know her father, Robert Calhoun, had passed away. He will be missed. I include a link to his obituary below.
