Greg Manual called me yesterday. I used to work with Greg at the Caterpillar Tech. Center. He called to let me know a bunch of the guys were getting together at the Chinese buffet on Camp St. in E. Peoria this coming Saturday at 6:00 p.m. So if any of you guys who used to work out there with us want to show up I am sure you would be welcome!
Ben has been participating in the Scholastic Bowl team at school again this year. They have practice after school every Monday and Tuesday. So Aaron drives home and then goes back to the school at 4:15 or so to pick Ben up. A week ago Tuesday Ben got a ride home from a friend but he didnt call to tell us because he forgot to take his cell phone. In the meantime, Aaron had gone to pick him up and was waiting there for him when Ben got home. Aaron didnt take his cell phone so Ben couldnt call him. So Ben had to drive the Blazer into town to tell Aaron to quit waiting for him. Last evening the phone rings around 4:45 and it is Ben wanting to know if Aaron is ever going to come get him. Aaron forgot. Ben forgot his cell again so he had to go somewhere to find a phone to call. Im beginning to wonder why we spend so much money on cell phones when neither of them can seem to remember to take them along or to leave them turned on.
Tracey worked the late shift last night. She was in a great mood when she got home around 9:30 because she gets the next two days off after working 9 days in a row. I talked her into going to Shake-A-Stake with me. It didnt take much convincing. I think that is the latest we have gone anywhere in a long, long time. It seemed almost odd sitting there with all the younger kids hanging out.
A young couple got married. When the wife prepared to bake a ham to celebrate their first Thanksgiving, she carefully cut off each end before placing it in the pan.
Her husband asked her why she did that and she replied, I dont know - its what my mother always did. But I can ask her.
She called Mom, who responded, I always saw your Grandma do it, so I did the same.
They decided to check further, so the young woman called Grandma, who explained, It was the only way I could get it to fit into my pan.
