Our hearts grow tender with childhood memories and love of kindred, and we are better throughout the year for having, in spirit, become a child again at Christmas-time.
In this photo provided by the San Francisco Zoo, Bulldozer, a 5-month-old male giraffe calf, is fed by Santa Claus at the San Francisco Zoo, Thursday, Dec. 20, 2007 in San Francisco. Santa was making his holiday visit to the zoos animals and giving them treats. Bulldozer was born on August 11, 2007 and was cared for by the zoos veterinary department due to his mothers lack of maternal instincts. Today Bulldozer can be seen on exhibit with the rest of the zoos giraffe herd at the African Savanna habitat.
A bee was flying all over town and whereever he went he would buzz Merry Christmas to all he met. In fact, he was so cheerful that it was almost over bearing. Finally one of his friends flew up beside him and asked why he was so obnoxious with all of his holiday greetings.
Why, responded the joyful bee, Im the bee of good cheer.
Yesterday was one of those foggy days that just didnt quit. I had to drive a lot and the one thing that really got to me was the number of absolute idiots driving without a single light burning to help others see their car. I suspect if you asked them the source of this lunacy they would say something like, I cant see any better with them on! No, but it sure would help others to SEE YOU! I am guessing it was about 1 out of 4 cars I encountered yesterday didnt have their lights turned on. I was driving through the fog with that peculiar squint one gets while doing so and out of the gloom would come rushing some buffoon without any lights on. It isnt so bad when approaching them head on so long as they stay in their lane ... but coming up behind them or trying to turn at an intersection ... It would be nice to see them a bit sooner! So remember when you are straining your eyes looking into that white mess ... if you cant see me coming ... I cant see you either!
