Tracey was starting to sniffle and sneeze yesterday and decided not to go out to eat with us. Denise, Mom and I went to the Cracked Barrel. We got a dud waitress again which seems to be happening more often than not. Mom ordered cole slaw and the waitress said they didnt have any ... again. Mom told her they hadnt any last weekend either. She told her we would be going elsewhere if it continued. Miraculously somebody was available to make some cole slaw. Amazing. Later one of the manager ladies made her way around and we gave her an earful for all the good it does. She gave us numerous excuses why we shouldnt expect to get what is on the menu ranging from they are too busy, short staffed and we got a lot of new people. Like we care about their failure to run the business properly other than we arent paying for excuses. I asked again about the lack of chili and she said it was a promotion they had occasionally but not a regular item. What the heck are they promoting if they arent going to continue serving it? Sounds more like bait and switch to me!
I didnt even get back on the computer last evening until almost midnight ... just before we went to bed. I was surprised to see that Tammy had made some more entries. I didnt know about the Wildlife Prairie Park groundhog not seeing her shadow but I did hear about the famous prognosticator on the east coast and his dire news. I had never really thought about other fortunes told by numerous other shadow dodging varmints but I suppose it makes sense as Spring comes earlier or later depending on where you live. Im not real sure about the ability of an overlarge underground rat to tell us that though.
Congratulations to Andy (and Tammy) for hard work rewarded. Im sure I wouldnt know anything about what you were doing yesterday but I am proud to know you do it well! And to Ashley for keeping the van on all four wheels! (I assume this because I didnt hear anything otherwise as of 10:00 last night!)
John Griffiths, one of the handlers of weather predicting groundhog Punxsutawney Phil, holds Phil on Ground Hogs Day in Punxsutawney, Pa. on Saturday, Feb. 2, 2008. The Groundhog Club said Phil saw his shadow and predicted six more weeks of winter.

I saw that ... I even considered putting the link on the Blog but thought it would be too much like pouring gas on a wildfire. I can see you found it for yourself and are smoldering! Im just glad our boys are past this stage and (knock on wood!) are driving safely.
