It’s never too late to be who you might have been.

Please Go Vote Today!

I don’t think we really have any Democratic choices locally for Congress but I intend to go vote against Hillarity.  The more I watch the coverage of the GOP race the more concerned I get about McCain.  It appears to be running at about the same insane pitch as it was when Duh-bya won the nomination 8 years ago.  I just can’t stand the thought of another doddering war monger in the White House.  I still want you to go vote even if we don’t agree.  I really think voting is important.  I would rather you voted properly, as I have instructed you, but if you must exercise your right to vote your conscience ... I respect that considerably more than not voting at all.

I spent a little over an hour preparing to commence to get ready to start thinking about working on our income taxes.  I even got the first draft finished.  I will have to go through it one more time and then forge Tracey’s name to it and mail it off.  I wouldn’t mind paying a fair share but I am not happy with paying so much for so little.

The Moral of the Story Is ...

The teacher gave her fifth grade class an assignment:  Get their parents to tell them a story with a moral at the end of it.

The next day the kids came back and one by one began to tell their stories.  There were all the regular type stuff, spilled milk and pennies saved.

But then teacher realized, much to her dismay, that only Ernie was left.  ‘Ernie, do you have a story to share?’

‘Yes ma’am.  My daddy told a story about my Aunt Karen.  She was a pilot in Desert Storm and her plane got hit.  She had to bail out over enemy territory and all she had was a flask of whiskey, a pistol and a survival knife.  She drank the whiskey on the way down so the bottle wouldn’t break, and then her parachute landed right in the middle of twenty enemy troops.  She shot fifteen of them with the gun until she ran out of bullets, killed four more with the knife, till the blade broke, and then she killed the last Iraqi with her bare hands.’

‘Good Heavens’ said the horrified teacher.  ‘What kind of moral did your daddy tell you from this horrible story?’

‘Stay the hell away from Aunt Karen when she’s drinking.’
