Dinner with Mom went well with no major confugalties at the Cracked Barrel. Alan & Glo joined Mom, DD, Tracey and me last evening for some food and conversation. The conversation touched on the polygamy case in Texas with all those children being held by the state while the authorities try to sort out the parental relationships, etc. We were all in agreement it was important to safeguard the children and that it would be difficult to judge how far society should go to do that. Should the religious sect be dismantled and banned? Or just adjusted and monitored to safeguard the rights of those who belong? And to what extent? Im just glad Im not that judge or on that jury. Not that I dont think the so-called wives and all those children dont deserve to live better but because I wouldnt want to be the one to try and convince them.
