Most people assume the fights are going to be the left versus the right, but it always is the reasonable versus the jerks.

What a beautiful day it was yesterday.  I managed to get my first sunburn of the year while I was out mowing.  Nothing serious just a bit of sting when I run a brush over my thinning hair!  Ben is going full swing on his garden and Noah was busy planting flowers and bushes for Denise.  Tracey did some tree trimming and provided a whole pile of sticks for her house wrens to build with.  I told her that’s the reason they come back every year is because the Goddess of Nesting Sticks keeps them in a ready supply of building materials!

Tracey was going to take some pictures of a beautiful red-tailed hawk we had cruising the sky yesterday but the camera battery went dead on her.  The charger wasn’t in the camera bag where it belongs so we began a search of the house for it.  Had it been a snake it would have bit me!  I looked all over the kitchen counter and never found it but Tracey found it.  I was on the Nikon web site trying to see how much it would cost to buy a new one.  I’m glad she found it!  And after charging the battery last evening she also put it back where it belongs!  Life is good.
US actress and activist Mia Farrow speaks at the Foreign Correspondents Club in Hong Kong.  Farrow Friday accused sponsors of the Beijing Olympics of bowing to greed and fear in failing to pressure China on its role in the conflict in Darfur.

The Aisle Seat

Two Arab’s boarded a flight out of London.  One took a window seat and the other sat next to him in the middle seat.

Just before takeoff, a U.S.  Marine sat down in the aisle seat.  After takeoff, the Marine kicked his shoes off, wiggled his toes and was settling in when the Arab in the window seat said, “I need to get up and get a coke.”

“Don’t get up,” said the Marine, “I’m in the aisle seat, “I’ll get it for you.”

As soon as he left, one of the Arabs picked up the Marine’s shoe and spat in it.

When the Marine returned with the coke, the other Arab said, “That looks good, I’d really like one, too.”

Again, the Marine obligingly went to fetch it.

While he was gone the other Arab picked up the Marine’s other shoe and spat in it.

When the Marine returned, they all sat back and enjoyed the flight.

As the plane was landing, the Marine slipped his feet into his shoes and knew immediately what had happened.

“Why does it have to be this way?” he asked.  “How long must this go on?  This fighting between our nations?  This hatred?  This animosity?

This spitting in shoes and peeing in cokes?”
