I ventured into Tremont yesterday to pay my real estate taxes and a quick trip to the medical clinic to pick up another sample of my medicine. Cat still hasnt approved the Byetta so I may end up either paying for it myself or switching to something else again. We really do need a health care system in this country. And judging by what I have to pay in taxes already we should be able to afford it! Almost $3,300 this year and climbing every year. Most of that is going to the deranged school district which spends more on nonsense than it does on education. Sound familiar?
I was planning to get a locking gas cap for the Taurus but they are always sold out. I called instead of driving into Pekin this time and the guy said he was too busy to look to see if any came in on todays truck and that he would call me back. He never called.
Todays picture is of Kyle Monroe. Kyle used to live right up the road from us out here in the sticks and played with Aaron & Ben quite a bit. His family moved into Tremont and they took him along but he still drops by every now and then to visit. He also chimes in on the blog sometimes. This picture was taken in a stand of pines at the very west edge of our property and the boys always called it The Pine Cone Store. Notice the blue and yellow truck in this picture. I saw it still sitting among the pine trees after all these years.
