Yesterday morning (Sunday) we took the hotel shuttle to the Avis car rental at the Grand Junction airport. I had reserved a GM Malibu class car and they tried to dump a PT Cruiser on us. We hauled our luggage out to the lot only to discover the car was short a quarter tank of gas and the air conditioner didnt work. So we went back in and they gave us a Mercury Milan ... much nicer and the A/C worked. So we were off to breakfast at Dennys.
After breakfast we took I-70 west into Utah for a short way and then south to Arches National Park. We spent the rest of the day driving around this park and really enjoyed the huge red sandstone arches, fins, buttes and other formations. The arches are the neatest. The weather was beautiful with a high wide bright blue sky that reached forever. The temperature stayed below 80 degrees but the sun felt much warmer on our skin. Tracey took over 200 pictures which I will begin to work on this morning to get on the blog.
We had reservations at the Super 8 in Moab and checked in there around 6 p.m. We took off to go eat but discovered I had forgotten to take or bring my medicine so we picked up some Wendys and took it back to the hotel. I cant seem to remember to take that darn medicine with me before we head out to eat! We had planned to figure out what we were going to do today but ended up watching a re-run on TV and going to bed at 9:00. This vacationing can wear you out!
