We were off to a good start yesterday driving south to visit the South Rim of the Grand Canyon when we reached a road block.  There had been a major accident involving a tractor trailer and several cars at a construction site.  After about an hour of waiting, during which we saw a helicopter land and take off from about a half mile ahead, the construction truck came up the line telling everyone the road would be closed for 4 hours to investigate the scene and remove all the vehicles.  So we had to take a three hour detour back north, then east, south and back west to finally make our way to the Grand Canyon.

Tracey and I agree the South Rim is a much better view than the North Rim.  We got a few pictures and headed back south again to get to our hotel in Flagstaff, Arizona.  We stopped at a generic No-Name steak house along the way.  The food was good and plentiful even though everybody spoke Mexican.  Tracey had to take a picture for Aaron so he could see the name of the place.  We were sure he wouldn’t want to eat there just because of the name.

We are fortunate that Arizona is another hour earlier than Mountain Time so it was only 8:00 when we finally got to our hotel instead of 9:00.  We were really tired and I slept in this morning so the Blog is late today.  I am also slow in getting new pictures uploaded but they will get there eventually.  We decided to spend our last day here just relaxing in the hotel and resting up so we can ride the train home if the flooding hasn’t killed the railroad tracks along the way.

A nuclear facility in Tonopah, Arizona. Nuclear energy is making a comeback as the new darling of the US “green” revolution -- as Americans embrace the idea of carbon-free power.

Who’s Guilty

A man and a woman were asleep like two innocent babies.  Suddenly, at 3 o’clock in the morning, a resounding noise came form outside.  The woman, sort of bewildered, jumps up from the bed and yells at the man:  “Oh No!, that must be my husband!”

So the guy quickly got out of bed , scared, and naked.  He jumped out the window like a crazy man, smashed himself on the ground, went through a thorn bush, then he stood up and started to run fast to his car.

Just a few minutes later he returns and tells the woman:  I’m your husband!!

So the woman answers:  Oh, yeah?!!  And why were you running?!!
