In this photo released by the official Xinhua news agency, members of China’s armed police demonstrate a rapid deployment during an anti-terrorist drill held in Jinan, east China, on Wednesday July 2, 2008, roughly one month ahead of the Beijing Olympic Games.  They are actually more concerned about an outbreak of Democracy ... they live in deadly fear of this.

Horseback Rider

A blond decides to try horseback riding, even though she has had no lessons, nor prior experience.  She mounts the horse unassisted, and the horse immediately springs into motion.  It gallops along at a steady and rhythmic pace, but the blond begins to slide from the saddle.  In terror, she grabs for the horse’s mane, but cannot seem to get a firm grip.  She tries to throw her arms around the horse’s neck, but she slides down the horse’s side anyway.

The horse gallops along, seemingly impervious to its slipping rider.  Finally, giving up her frail grip, the blond attempts to leap away from the horse and throw herself to safety.  Unfortunately, her foot has become entangled in the stirrup; she is now at the mercy of the horse’s pounding hooves as her head is struck against the ground over and over.

As her head is battered against the ground, she is mere moments away from unconsciousness when to her great fortune ...

Frank, the Wal-mart greeter, sees her dilemma and unplugs the horse.

And you thought all they did was say Hello.

I slept in this morning and it was great!  Above you can see the long awaited picture of Tracey in her scooter outfit scootering off to work.  I think she looks rather cool in the black boots and helmet wearing nursing scrubs ... don’t you?

I really HAVE to mow some grass today.  I am several days behind on most of it and it is really looking bad.  Some of it will need 2 tries to knock it down if I don’t get started on it.

Tracey and I spent a couple hours yesterday morning taking her scooter apart to get at the wiring on her light switch to make a modification.  The bike has two headlamps.  One is for bright and one for dim.  So there was one light on and one off which always looked to me as if one of the lights wasn’t working.  We fixed it so both lights are on when the switch is on bright and only the dim is on otherwise.  So far she has had nobody flash her for driving with both on and we think it will help make sure people see her with both lights burning.  Can’t hurt.

Already we have several pieces of mail for Noah.  I will have to start putting them together about once a week and mailing them off to him.  He hasn’t turned in a forwarding address with the post office yet because they plan to move again in a couple months.  In the meantime we will be forwarding mail I guess.
