A herd of elk graze in the meadows of Yellowstone National Park with the background Mt. Holmes, left, and Mt. Dome, in Wyoming.  Government agencies killed more than 6,000 wild bison leaving Yellowstone National Park over the last two decades — the grisly result of efforts to contain a serious livestock disease carried by the animals.  Thousands of elk in the region also carry the disease, brucellosis, but are not managed similarly.  Transmission occurs mainly through direct contact with birthing matter, but state and federal officials have included hundreds of male bison in their slaughter, contending that males still present a risk.  There has been no documented case of brucellosis transmission in the wild between cattle and bison.  Another nonsense government policy against the environment that protects nobody.

Cowboy

An old cowboy sat down at the Starbucks and ordered a cup of coffee.  As he sat sipping his coffee, a young woman sat down next to him.  She turned to the cowboy and asked, ‘Are you a real cowboy?’

He replied, ‘Well, I’ve spent my whole life breaking colts, working cows, going to rodeos, fixing fences, pulling calves, bailing hay, doctoring calves, cleaning my barn, fixing flats, working on tractors, and feeding my dogs, so I guess I am a cowboy.’

She said, ‘I’m a lesbian ...  I spend my whole day thinking about women.  As soon as I get up in the morning, I think about women.  When I shower, I think about women.  When I watch TV, I think about women.  I even think about women when I eat.  It seems that everything makes me think of women.’

The two sat sipping in silence.

A little while later, a man sat down on the other side of the old cowboy and asked, ‘Are you a real cowboy?’

He replied, ‘I always thought I was, but I just found out that I’m a lesbian.’

The clocks are all flashing this morning so the power was off some time last night.  I think it was a couple times.  We can always count on AmerenCILCO every time it storms, the power will go out and we will have to set every clock in the house.

I don’t think we got much rain but I am glad the boys and I finished all the mowing yesterday.

Geez...a couple of them booms made me jump this morning!  We didn’t loose power, but they did knock out the street light a few times.  Of course, Dave and I washed the van last night -- that’s why it rained!  :)
Yea, the storms were all talk and no action -- I only have 1/4” of rain in the rain gauge.
Have a Happy Anniversary today!

Happy BELATED Anniversary to you guys too!  Sorry about that, I didn’t even look at the calendar yesterday!  And thank you!  Twenty-four years today!

We really don’t need any rain yet ... our weeds are still growing faster than we can keep up!

24 years huh...we were 23 yesterday.  We all went fishing at Eureka Lake and then ate dinner at Hardees.  Alot does change in 23 and 24 years!!  Here’s to another 24 years!

Thanks so much!  It does seem a short time ago and then when I see how our kids have grown and one of them has left the nest ... where did the time go!
