War like any other racket, pays high dividends to
the very few. The cost of operations is always
transferred to the people who do not profit.

For years, mortgage giants Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac tenaciously worked to nurture, and then protect, their financial empires by invoking the political sacred cow of homeownership and fielding an army of lobbyists, power brokers and political contributors. Now, new attention is being focused on the bruised mortgage companies as the Bush administration presses its rescue plan to Congress.

I’m glad Congress collectively grew a backbone and voted to override this Duh-bya veto —— I just wish they could show the same courage on a few other very important issues. Like getting us out of Iraq!

I was NOT happy when I got off the phone with the #InsuranceMafia yesterday so I decided to give it some time before typing this up. Probably best.

I called as soon as they opened and I was told my account “representative”, Lisa, was out for the day but then all of a sudden she was in. I was told she would call me back as soon as she had her computer running. I think she was told to be in today because of the emails I sent to her boss.

Anyway about 1/2 hour later Lisa calls and immediately tells me I am on the speaker phone with her boss Bill. I ask her about the conversation when I bought the insurance and she absolutely denies she ever said anything about zero deductibles and then she and Bill tell me I had to have misunderstood because there is no such thing as zero deductible insurance anymore. Whatever.

I know what I was told and Tracey heard my end of the conversation too. Lisa also said the same thing about my policy on my scooter. It turns out she had put a $500 deductible on it. I had her put them both down to the least we could get on this policy —— $100. Glad we didn’t find out the hard way that I had a $500 deductible!

There were also several other things I had to correct on my policies that she had gotten wrong. I didn’t get nasty with them or make any dire threats but I think I will be looking for a new agent after this claim with Tracey’s scooter is settled.

I don’t like it when people try to blame their mistakes on me. I also learned it is a bad idea to trust your insurance agent because you can get screwed if you do.

The last “representative” we had was great and she spoiled us by being competent.

So if you are doing business with Unland Insurance and Lisa is your “representative” —— you had better double check everything including the fine print and don’t pay much attention to what she tells you because she won’t stand behind it. Lesson learned at the cost of $250.

ORANGE COUNTY, FL. -- A controversial billboard in Orange County has a picture of the burning World Trade Center and the message, “Please Don’t Vote for a Dimocrat.” The man who paid for the ad says he’s trying to help Repuglicans, but officials with both political parties are calling the billboard inappropriate.

Inappropriate? I would say using this kind of imagery is beyond that. I think it really highlights why the GQP should be banished from this country. Just another example of the ways they lie, cheat and steal to control our country. It is disgusting is what it is.

That’s so insensitive. I hate it when people use hyperbole to inflame a situation. (Like when people compare someone of the other party to Hitler) It’s really an unkindness to the victims of the tragedy.
