Underwear Dust

One evening a husband, thinking he was being funny, said to his wife ‘Perhaps we should start washing your clothes in Slim Fast.  Maybe it would take a few inches off of your butt!’

His wife was not amused, and decided that she simply couldn’t let such a comment go unrewarded.

The next morning the husband took a pair of underwear out of his drawer.  ‘What the Hell is this??’ he said to himself as a little ‘dust’ cloud appeared when he shook them out.  ‘April,’ he hollered into the bathroom, ‘why did you put talcum powder in my underwear?’

She replied ...’It’s not talcum powder...it’s ‘Miracle Grow’

I worked on my new scooter for a couple hours this morning.  I rewired the light switch to make both headlights on when the high beam switch is on and only the low beam at the low setting.  This makes the bike look much better and also gives car drivers a little better chance of seeing me coming down the road.  I’m all for that!  I spent almost an hour working to fix the handlebar grip on the left side.  It had been pulled in toward the center of the bike by the trailer straps when I brought it home.  I finally hooked up the same straps from my big mower to the grip and then cranked the strap tight enough to pull it back where it belonged.  It took about four tries because the soft rubber kept wanting to go back to where it was.  It was so hot I was dripping wet by the time I got finished and Tracey helped me to put it all back together.  She is handy to have around because sometimes my chubby fingers don’t work so too good to put little screws back into tight places.

We learned another valuable lesson today.  After I got cleaned up we went to Blob Evan’s for lunch in Pekin.  We walked in the door at about 12:10 and we didn’t get fed and out of there until 1:45.  It only took about 30 minutes to get  a table and then over 45 minutes to get our food.  I don’t know if they were training a new cook, or our waiter forgot to put our order in or if they are just that durn slow on a Sunday ... but it really sucked!  I could say some other unflattering things about the work ethic of the people who seat people and run the cash register but suffice to say we won’t be going again on a Sunday.

I have been watching the weather and wondering whether my cousin Dave, his wife Tammy and kids were traveling right into a hurricane at Myrtle Beach ... but it looks like it stayed a tropical storm and has moved on up the coast.  Hopefully they won’t get rained on too much!
