Obummer (R) and Hamid Karzai walk at the presidential palace in Kabul July 20th, 2008. Obummer met Karzai in Kabul on Sunday, the second day of a visit to Afghanistan that is meant to bolster the senator’s totally non-existant foreign policy credentials.

You will note this article is considered opinion. The new AP Washington Bureau chief would call it news if he agreed with it or lies if he didn’t. The last paragraph says it all when it comes to the influence of Faux style news which is becoming more common. Obama never “gave his word” one way or the other about public financing other than to say he would negotiate that with his GQP opponent. McMaim actually committed crimes in using public financing to gain private loans, and has now reneged on public financing —— but nobody is reporting those “facts”. The Main Stream Media in this country is increasingly being bought out by business and politicians to the point our “news” can’t be trusted and this opinion piece highlights some good examples of invented news for the sake of marketing.

Is Fournier saving or destroying the AP?

About five minutes after Tracey took the picture above the blasted #Piaggio died. The engine just quit and won’t start again. I am beginning to think it is a charging system problem because it acts like the battery doesn’t have enough juice to start it. And since it was running when it died the charger must not be charging. We checked it out and couldn’t find any dead fuses but I did discover some information on a web site about these scooters. There is a fuse in the charging system and there were some new scooters that had the charging circuit wired wrong. Customers report the fuse blows because of the improper connections and the scooter runs off the battery until the battery dies and then won’t start. Sounds like the symptoms I have but it was too dark by the time I read it to get at that fuse. Tracey and I found the connection under the seat but couldn’t see to get it apart. I just hope I don’t have to haul the thing back to Freeport to get it fixed.

Here’s the headline on the ABC “News” web site:

“After Touring a Safer Iraq, Obama Still Balks at Troop Surge”

Now how’s that for unbiased reporting? What a joke? Who says Iraq is safer? Safer than what? It certainly isn’t as safe to walk the streets as it was before we invaded. And what has that got to do with “The Surge” —— typical slanted reporting about mumbo-jumbo spin phrases. The American People want us out of Iraq —— that is clear —— so why does Main Stream Media pander to the GQP?
