It takes little time for a child who is afraid of the dark to become a teenager who stays out all night. The Internets |
Republican presidential candidate Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., momentarily holds his microphone upside-down during a campaign stop at the Rochester Opera House in Rochester, N.H., Tuesday, July 22, 2008. How can anyone seriously believe this senile old fart should be the next Leader of the Free World? |
Name Dropper Bob and his buddy Jack decided to go skiing for their spring break. They loaded up Bobs minivan and headed north. After driving for a few hours, they got caught in a terrible blizzard and pulled into a nearby farm. They asked the attractive lady who answered the door if they could spend the night. I realize its terrible weather out there and I have this huge house all to myself, but Im recently widowed, she explained. Im afraid the neighbors will talk if I let you stay in my house. Dont worry, Bob said. Well be happy to sleep in the barn. When the weather breaks, well be gone at first light. The lady agreed, and the two men found their way to the barn and settled in for the night. By morning, the weather cleared, and they went on their way to enjoying a good week of skiing. Nine months later, Bob got an unexpected letter from an attorney. It took him a few minutes to figure it out, but he finally determined that it was from the attorney of the attractive widow they had met on the ski weekend. He dropped in on his friend Jack and asked, Jack, do you remember that good-looking widow from the farm we stayed at on our ski trip up north? Yes, said Jack, I do. Did you happen to get up in the middle of the night, go up to the house and pay her a visit? Yes, said Jack, a little embarrassed about being found out. I have to admit I did. And did you happen to use my name instead of her yours? Jacks face turned red, and he said, Yeah, sorry, buddy. Im afraid I did. Why do you ask? Because, said Bob, she just died and left me everything! |
| I found a discussion on the Internets about some of the MP3 400 bikes having wires crossed in the charging circuit from the factory and this kept the battery from being charged. I called the Florida dealership one fellow mentioned specifically and after 3 phone calls and some conversation determined which two wires to swap. Once again Tracey came to the rescue because my hands are too big to get into the access panel. She swapped the wires and the bike has been running smoothly. The battery had recovered somewhat and it had enough juice to start the engine. I rode it for about 10 minutes and shut it off and it started right back up. So I rode it for about a half hour after that with no problems. I sure hope that is the fix so I dont have to trailer it to Freeport. |

| I am REALLY enjoying riding that bike! Michael T. and I had our monthly breakfast together and I rode the bike to the Blob Evans in Pekin. I am still a little nervous in traffic and feel somewhat like I may be invisible, but I am getting used to it. Michael and I talked motorcycles and stuff. We didnt really get too much into politics like we usually do. I guess it was just nice to have something neutral to yak about. We did sort of touch on the Duh-bya visit to Peoria today, but not too much. What can you say about him that hasnt already been said all these many years? |

I am still a little nervous in traffic and feel somewhat like I may be invisible, but I am getting used to it. DONT GET USED TO IT!!! That is a survival skill along with assuming that EVERYONE WANTS TO KILL YOU. I see a Goldwing in your future, ;-) |

| I suppose it is a possibility but I think I have enough motorcycle for now. It is certainly a lot of fun to ride. |
