Wal-Mart Stores Inc said on Friday it has warned U.S. store managers in recent weeks about the possible consequences of a labor-friendly bill backed by Democratic presidential hopeful Barack Obama that would make it easier for workers to form unions.

No corporation ought to get away with telling their employees anything about political decisions.  This is an obvious threat to their employment if they are seen to be supporting a Democratic candidate or issue.

Japanese automaker Toyota Motor Corp. engineer Yoshihiro Kawarazaki arrives by Toyota’s new motorized ride ‘Winglet’ he has been developing during a press conference in Tokyo Friday, Aug. 1, 2008.  Toyota will start testing the stand-up-and-ride contraption, that travels at up to 6 kph (3.7 mph), later this year at a Japanese airport and resort complex and next year at a shopping mall to get feedback from people.  No plans are set to sell the Winglet as a commercial product.

Of course they will sell it as a commercial product, why bother to make it otherwise?  Another great American idea stolen by the Far East!

Ancient Chinese Torture

A young man was lost wandering in a forest, when he came upon a small house.  He knocked on the door and was greeted by an ancient Chinese man with a long, grey beard.  “I’m lost,” said the man.  “Can you put me up for the night?”

“Certainly,” the Chinese man said, “but on one condition.  If you so much as lay a finger on my daughter, I will inflict upon you the three worst Chinese tortures known to man.”

“Ok,” said the man, thinking that the daughter must be pretty old as well, and entered the house.

Before dinner, the daughter came down the stairs.  She was young, beautiful, and had a fantastic figure.  She was obviously attracted to the young man since she couldn’t keep her eyes off him during the meal.  Remembering the old man’s warning, he ignored her and went up to bed alone.  But during he night, he could bear it no longer, and sneaked into her room for a night of passion.  He was careful to keep everything quiet so the old man wouldn’t hear.  Near dawn he crept back to his room, exhausted, but happy.

He woke to feel a pressure on his chest.  Opening his eyes he saw a large rock on his chest with a note on it that read, “Chinese Torture 1: Large rock on chest.” “Well, that’s pretty crappy,” he thought.  “If that’s the best the old man can do then I don’t have much to worry about.” He picked the boulder up, walked over to the window and threw the boulder out.  As he did so he noticed another note on it that read: “Chinese Torture 2: Rock tied to left testicle.” In a panic he glanced down and saw the rope that was already getting close to the end.  Figuring that a few broken bones was better than castration, he jumped out of the window after the boulder.  As he plummeted downward he saw a large sign on the ground that read, “Chinese Torture 3: Right testicle tied to bedpost.”

I meant to post these pictures from Noah a couple days ago and forgot.  They are of the terrace outside their apartment.

Tracey finished her motorcycle class today and passed all the tests so she can now go to the DMV and get the restrictions taken off her driver license.  I have decided it was a good thing I didn’t take the class after all based on some of the nonsense she has told me about.  I don’t do classes well and having to learn a lot of nonsense just sets me off.

Hello again...I sent a message earlier this evening, but it’s not here, there or anywhere.  ????
We have returned from a fantastic vacation!!  I think we brought the whole hotel’s dirty laundry!
I’ll try to get some pics. to you in the near distant future.
I tried to catch up a little, but I have a hard time with your new/old site!  It’s hard to catch up and/or follow, but I’m still trying to accept the change -- not complaining here!  :)

Hi Tammy!
Glad you had a good vacation and that you made it home sweet home safely.  I don’t know what changes you mean?  What is different that you don’t like?

I’m just still trying to get used to the “new” way from a month ago!!  Maybe I would have better luck if I just went through the calendar day by day instead of trying to use the margin tabs from people.  I’ve just kept my mouth shut since I usually have a hard time changing old habits!  It’s just me!!  (I guess I just can’t let myself get that far behind)  :)

Tammy => I slowly came to this form of blogging as it is similar to many of the other blogs I have visited over the past few months.  The idea is to read each full day in chronological order and then use the margin links just to catch any recent updates you may have missed since the last time you visited.  The margin links are only contributions made by using the comment form and do not reflect any of the content I put in otherwise.
