Ordinarily I would agree that the pregnancy of an unwed 17 year old would be a private matter ... but there has to be some consideration when the parent of that daughter teaches the child not to use condoms and preaches abstinence instead AND that parent intends to make her failed policies into law if she becomes Vice-President of the country.  Her methods obviously didn’t work for her family -- why should the rest of the country have that policy imposed upon them?
