It is curious that physical courage should be so common in the world and moral courage so rare.
Mark Twain

O.J. Simpson (R) embraces his lawyer Yale Galanter after he was convicted on all charges in his Las Vegas kidnapping and robbery trial at the Clark County Regional Justice Center in Las Vegas October 3, 2008. Simpson, the former football star who was famously cleared of murder in the 1990s ‘Trial of the Century’, was convicted along with co-defendant Clarence ‘C.J.’ Stewart on the 13th anniversary of his controversial 1995 acquittal, was ordered jailed by Clark County District Court Judge Jackie Glass immediately after the verdict. Simpson and Stewart face sentences of up to life in prison when they are sentenced on Dec. 5.

So they have finally nailed Simpson for something and can throw him in jail.  Maybe we can finally be done with this guy.  I am so sick of seeing him on the TV!  We will still have the media attention when he is sentenced and then again when he is killed in prison.
That’ll Teach Him

I went to the store the other day.  I was only in there for about 5 minutes and when I came out there was a damn motorcycle cop writing a parking ticket.  So I went up to him and said, ‘Come on buddy, how about giving a gal a break?’

He ignored me and continued writing the ticket.  So I called him a pencil necked nazi.

He glared at me and started writing another ticket for having bald tires!!

So I called him a piece of horse shit.

He finished the second ticket and put it on the car with the first.  Then he started writing a third ticket!!  This went on for about 20 minutes, the more I abused him, the more tickets he wrote.

I didn’t give a damn.  My car was parked around the corner...  This was the car that took my parking space.

Tracey and I scootered to Blob Evans for breakfast yesterday morning.  We were seated near the front windows and shortly after we started eating we noticed some guys setting up orange cones and bringing a cherry picker lift around to the front of the restaurant.  It soon became apparent they intended to paint directly above the main entrance / exit door of the place.  It was obvious they intended to work above the heads of anyone entering or leaving the place.  I asked for the manager and explained that was contrary to law, especially the fact the dude operating the lift wasn’t strapped in and there was nothing to prevent them dropping a paint bucket on someone’s head.  They were undeterred in their efforts to break the law.  I would have called OSHA but they are closed on weekends.

Alan and Glo joined DD, Mom, Tracey and me at the Cracked Barrel again last evening.  I thought all went well with dinner and couldn’t find TOO much fault with the waiter except the usual bothering me to clear the dirty dishes for him.  We all went to Mom’s afterward and had some generally agreeable conversation.  Sarah Pale was the object of some little scorn and derision, especially by me, along with various other brief political laments.

Well, my veiw of the evening was different.  I thought there was more discussion on religion (how could you forget the whole “fish on friday” discussion) .  I also recall all of you took a long walk down memory lane.

“I also recall all of you took a long walk down memory lane.”

Isn’t that a sure sign of something?  I can’t seem to remember just what it is a sign of but something, I’m sure...hmmm.

Memory Lane is not on a GPS Navigator and so we need each other to remember how to get there.  Unfortunately for Tracey she lived on a different Memory Lane than most of at Mom’s house did ... so I think she may have been bored with the scenery.
