Repetition does not transform a lie into a truth.
Franklin D. Roosevelt

Republican presidential candidate Sen. John McSame, R-Ariz., leers as Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., answers a question during a town hall-style presidential debate at Belmont University in Nashville, Tenn., Tuesday, Oct. 7, 2008.

In typical serial liar style McSame would spew a series of lies and then sit back and leer while Obama spent valuable debate time correcting the lies.  I do not think McSame did any good with his lies or his rude behavior ... at one point calling Obama - That Guy.

Fourth Marriage

A woman, married three times, walked into a bridal shop one day and told the sales clerk that she was looking for a wedding gown for her fourth wedding.

“Of course, madam,” replied the sales clerk, “exactly what type and color are you looking for?”

The bride to be said: “A long frilly white dress with a veil.”

The sales clerk hesitated a bit, then said, “Please don’t take this the wrong way, but gowns of that nature are considered more appropriate for brides who are being married the first time - for those who are a bit more innocent, if you know what I mean?  Perhaps ivory or sky blue would be nice?”

“Well,” replied the customer, a little peeved at the clerk’s directness, “I can assure you that a white gown would be quite appropriate.  Believe it or not, despite all my marriages, I remain as innocent as a first time bride.  You see, my first husband was so excited about our wedding, he died as we were checking into our hotel. My second husband and I got into such a terrible fight in the limo on our way to our honeymoon that we had that wedding annulled immediately and never spoke to each other again.”

“What about your third husband?” asked the sales clerk.

“That one was a Republican,” said the woman, “and every night for four years, he just sat on the edge of the bed and told me how good it was going to be, but nothing ever happened ...”

Today is certainly beautiful compared to yesterday!  Tracy had to wear her rain suit both going to and coming home from work yesterday ... it was just a gray dreary day all day.

We watched Obama debate and McSame tell lies last night on the so-called debate that Tom Brokaw bumbled through.  McSame continues to tell the same tired stories over and over and this time invented another one by accusing Obama of having a fine against those who don’t participate in his health plan.  When a candidate lies in such a fashion the moderator ought to just shut his microphone off.  It is ridiculous that a candidate for President has no more self respect than to tell one lie after another and worse yet that he can get away with it.

Aaron and Ben get their school pictures taken today and I hope they remember to smile, at least a little.
