Halloween Trick A cabbie picks up a Nun. She gets into the cab, And the cab driver wont stop staring at her. She asks him why is he staring. He replies, I have a question to ask you, but I dont want to offend you. She answers, My son, you cannot offend me. When youre as old as I am and have been a Nun as long as I have, you get a chance to see and hear just about everything. Im sure that theres nothing you could say or ask that I would find offensive. Well, Ive always had a fantasy to have a Nun kiss me. She responds, Well, lets see what we can do about that: #1, you have to be single and #2, you must be Catholic. The cab driver is very excited and says, Yes, I am single; and Im Catholic too! OK the Nun says. Pull into the next alley. He does and the Nun fulfills his fantasy with a kiss that would make a hooker blush. But when they get back on the road, the cab driver starts crying. My dear child, said the nun, why are you crying? Forgive me Sister, but I have sinned. I lied. I must confess, Im married and Im Jewish. The nun says, Thats OK, my name is Kevin and Im on my way to a Halloween party. |
| I would like to comment on the record increase of the stock market yesterday, since I dont know if you will, Dad. I noticed that the news is constantly saying thanks to the bailout, due to the economic relief bill, thriving because of the bill, etc. And here I thought that when stocks go down people BUY them because they are cheap, which then causes stocks to go UP. Im pretty sure that would have happened without the $700 billion. |

Hi Noah, I have to admit Im not sure what to think about this whole mess. I know the world economics are all screwed up and have been saying for years that you just cant print up more money to keep it going. On the other hand it has gotten so bad I dont know what we could do to fix it. If enough people have faith in this business of printing more worthless money ... then it will have the value faith gives it. That is all that has kept it running these many years anyway ... faith. Faith that buy low and sell high will continue to work when it all means nothing anyway. I personally think we should simply let the whole mess fall apart and rebuild our finances properly. Sort of like a world wide bankruptcy or do over. And this time but the value of money on a standard and have some rules of engagent for which there are ugly consequences when broken. That might be too drastic though. Once fallen it might take so long to rebuild that we all starve to death for our stupidity. |
