Ninety-eight percent of the adults in this country are decent, hard-working, honest Americans.  It’s the other lousy two percent that get all the publicity.  But then--we elected them.

Ashley Todd, a 20-year-old college student from College Station, Texas, had told police that she was robbed at knife point, knocked to the ground by a black assailant who scratched a backward letter ‘B’ into her face with a dull knife, told investigators on Friday she had made up the story, police said.

Todd originally told police a man “punched her in the back of the head, knocking her to the ground, and he continued to punch and kick her while threatening to teach her a lesson for being a McCain supporter,” according to a police statement.

The woman also told police her attacker “called her a lot of names and stated that ‘You are going to be a Barack supporter,’ at which time she states he sat on her chest, pinning both her hands down with his knees, and scratched into her face a backward letter ‘B’ on the right side of her face using what she believed to be a very dull knife.”

Halloween Q & A

Why don’t mummies take vacations?

They’re afraid they’ll relax and unwind.

We are getting down to the wire on the silly season of politics.  Ben has been trying to correct some of his fellow students at school about the many misconceptions and outright lies from the McSame/Pale campaign.  I told him not to get too carried away ... especially with friends and relatives ... because these elections come around every four years and all the politicians shuffle about.  Our friends and families stay with us and it just isn’t a fair trade to lose any of them over political arguments.  It’s okay to stand your ground but not to get too personal about it.  I wonder where he gets this concern about elections anyway?

It must have been windy last night because it seems every time I woke up the furnace was running.  Or perhaps subconsciously I am concerned about the price of propane and woke up when I heard the furnace kick on.  Whatever ... the only thing I really HATE about winter is the high cost of keeping the house warm!

I enjoy a “good” debate with ben and many other students. I don’t know why so many of us are interested in politics... I probably get it from my grandpa who gets all wrapped up in it! Even though I may not agree with someone else view, I like to keep and open mind to their reasoning and ideas because no political party has perfect plans you can completely agree with!
