A photo provided by the Florence and Laurence Family Foundation shows a sample of a card that was handed out to employees of the Waukegan, Ill.-based Peer Bearing Co., from the Spungen family with thank-you bonus checks after the family sold the company. The bonuses totaled $6.6 million to be shared by just 230 employees. Amounts varied and were based on years of service. Seen in the photo at lower right are Florence and Laurence Spungen in the front row and Danny, Carol, Debbi and Glenn Spungen in the back row.
I thought this was a great story amid the wreackage of companies laying off and ripping off their employees. The Spungen family should be praised long and loud for remembering all the workers with such generosity!
Tracey left at 4:30 this morning to go to work. The road out front didnt look too bad so she took her car instead of the Blazer. Im sure she made it to work OK by now or she would have called. The first few snows are the worst because so many people seem to have lost their minds since last year and need to learn how to drive in snow again. They scare me and Im not afraid of anything :-0

I know what you mean about those idiots on the first snowy/icy roads!! Im a little nervous for/about Andy driving to ICC this morning. I think hes going to still go School St. IDOT said as of 5 a.m. that I74 is patchy ice/snow. I think Id rather go School St. since Andy says that there is very little traffic on it. That would be better to me than out there on I74 with the idiots learning to drive on snow and ice again!!

I feel the same way about Ben & Aaron driving to school ... at least they dont have as far to go as Andy. It is always a toss up as to which roads to take. Some are better cleared with way more traffic and some are less cleared and you are the only car on the road. Hard to know which is going to work out better. I think I would vote with School St. too though.
