Odetta, widely honored as the “Voice of the Civil Rights Movement” died Tuesday, Dec. 2nd at age 77. Odetta Holmes was born in Birmingham, AL, on Dec. 31st, 1930, in the depths of the Depression. The music of that time and place - particularly prison songs and work songs recorded in the fields of the Deep South - shaped her life.
We sure seem to be having our share of car repairs. Mom called last night to tell me she can’t get the key to turn in her ignition.
Just last week she couldn’t get the car started because her battery was dead.
I will be going over to her place later this morning to see if I can sort it out. Hopefully it is just jammed up a little and we can get her going without having her car towed, repair bills, etc.
I was all set to shoot off a scathing Pet Peeve about the high school again and then decided —— what is the use? I only risk getting our boys in trouble with a particular mental midget teacher.
Suffice to say another homework assignment is ludicrous as well as a total waste of time and money. Just another teacher who should never have been hired and is in dire need of being fired.
I again consider righting a lengthy diatribe to the local newspaper opinion columns once all our boys are out of school and no longer hostage to this insanity. The willful stupidity is mind boggling!

A mental midget teacher? Schwenk, Palmer, or Eve? Those are the only teachers I can remember who would fall into that particular category

I can neither confirm nor deny your suggestions —— since your brothers are still at the mercy of said mental midget. Perhaps later I shall email a name as I don’t remember it right now
