A man stands with a sign in the viewing platform area as preparations continue for the inauguration of Obummer at the U.S. Capitol in Washington, January 19th, 2009.
Tammy --> Ive spent some time rewriting the video command routine and hopefully it will work better now? If this doesnt work I can only think there must be some difference between our video players (mine is Windows Media Player version 11). Or perhaps our browsers.
I am somewhat perplexed as I have not changed anything that drastically from what I was doing last year, but then Bill Gates software has never been very stable, such as it is.

Good morning. I sent an email to my brother asking about viewing your videos. I have Media Player, but I dont know what number, etc...
I know if I click on video or music on the side, it does the same thing -- flips between a blank page and a page with the small calendar and comment guideline section.
Its probably my computer since I had to fix it over xmas. I actually have Daves old parts -- he got the new one. Go figure! Maybe theres something different now that I have Daves parts.
Well see what my brother says. I gave him your blog address so he could understand what Im talking about.
Ashley finally has school again today! Andy and Dave made it to Chicago, but I havent heard anything else since. Hopefully they navigated their way around ok!

I suppose if you got his old hard drive you might have an older version of Windows, Internet Explorer, etc. Since you were watching the videos at the end of last year and cant now I would suppose it is something that changed in that regard.
Still, I had hoped I would be able to get it to work for you because it is possible it isnt working for others too.
You could probably upgrade your software by connecting to Windows Update but that isnt much fun, especially if you arent used to messing with that stuff. Lets hope your brother can catch what I am missing because I cant find any reason at my end why it shouldnt work.
Thanks for hanging there with me though!
Have you tried going back to December 2008 and watching one of those videos of Noah? If you cant watch them now when you could watch them before your computer crashed that would probably confirm a change caused by your repairs.

I dont know if this will help you out Tammy but I used to click on the video link and it would load and start playing automatically. Then I would right-click and select Zoom - full screen.
Now, I have to click the video link which takes me to the blank black square with a calendar under. Nothing happens until I right click on the black square and select Play, it then starts to play and I can right-click and zoom - full screen.

Good news?! My brother emailed me and said that he could watch the videos just fine from his computer.
He said that I probably dont have Media Player 11 and gave me the site to download. I dont know if I should attempt it by myself...heres been my day:
6:30 a.m. COLD shower!
No flame in water heater so I call the Whirlpool # and get a FOREIGN person that I cant understand! Im not real mechanically inclined so him and I are butting heads big time.
This water heater was bought in Nov. 2004, new thermocouple, etc. put in Aug. 2007 because of malfunctions and court cases against Whirlpool. I told the foreign guy that I have to go to work and that Id call back after work.
I get home and call again and guess what...THE SAME GUY! I got thoroughly frustrated with him and the water heater again so I hung up.
I thought Dave could do it when him and Andy get home around 5 p.m. Well, well, well...my grown men cannot tell time!
They missed their train and now have to wait for the 5:15. If Dave hurries, he can call Whirlpool and well hopefully have hot water by morning. If not, well, cold showers for all!
Now I think Im skipping the cooking of the meal and ordering pizza! I deserve a hot meal cooked by someone else!
Ill let you know when Im up to par for videos.

Holy cow! (Was the tech guy from India snicker get it?) Never mind. Sounds like you have had a bummer day. Been there, done that, own the T-Shirt.
My foreign technical support usually involves computer stuff but I did have several home grown varieties today. Ill save that for tomorrow!
The media upgrade shouldnt be a problem. It usually takes a while to download the files and install but it is fairly automated. Ive never had any trouble doing it but that may be just blind luck too. It seems like everything with MSoft is a crap shoot anymore!
Enjoy your pizza and I hope your guys get home safely. Darn AMTRAK, they only run on time when you are running late!

Hey...I think you know the guy on the other end of the phone today! Oh, I sent an email to CO, but no response as of yet. Hope all is well out west!
