U.S. Airways pilot Chesley Sullenberger III, who safely landed a US Airways plane in the Hudson River, waves as he enters a celebration in Danville, CA, January 24th, 2009. All 155 people aboard the airplane survived.
I picked Tracey up from the Peoria Airport yesterday right on time. We went to the Cracked Barrel as she hadnt time to get anything to eat before her plane took off from Arizona. A nice long nap was in order after all that. Noah called to make sure she made it home Okay. She was supposed to call him and me before getting on the plane so we knew she was alive and well but she fried her cell phone by putting it down next to an ice bucket in her hotel room and the phone got wet. Bummer.
Tracey was a bit disappointed in the Motel 6 she stayed at because they had no soap, shampoo, etc. She didnt take any of those things because of the ridiculous rules about flying with deadly amounts of shampoo. Oddly enough the GQP Congressman from Michigan, Peter Hoekstra, can use his Blackberry to announce in real time exactly where the helicopter full of US officials was flying in Iraq but we cant be trusted to sensibly use shampoo, deodorant, etc. Unfortunately the helicopter full of GQP jerks didnt get shot down. Better luck next time.
Tracey has to open and close the clinic today so she left at 4:30 a.m. She wont get off work until 6 oclock or so but she took her frizzled phone anyway hoping she would have time to get it looked at by the phone tech. kid. She would love to have to only replace the battery but I think the phone got drowned and fried.
I will be going to see the Dr. later this morning. I had almost decided to cancel the appointment but decided I better go anyway. I am sure she is still pissed that I didnt come for another $75 appointment two months ago when she beckoned for my attention.
I refuse to go more often than every three months regardless and prefer it to be every six months. Unfortunately they control that by refusing to write the prescriptions I need unless I pay the extortion office fees for them to do what we both know they should do before I ever set foot in the place. God Bless America.

A neat trick for phones that are water damaged.Take the battery out. Put the phone in a bowl filled with rice, then cover it with saran wrap. The rice will pull the water from the phone and dry up all the internal parts. It doesnt always work as water+electronics=Bad!
