Contents Have Been Sorted During Bagging
So after lunch (and a short nap) I decide I better go buy some groceries and I get a new bagger dude.
I always put my stuff on the checkout belt together so it is easier to put away when I get home. Can goods together, freezer stuff together, etc. etc.
So this kid is obviously trying to put one of everything in each bag. Four cans of pears go one to a bag. Followed by four packages of shredded cheese, one to a bag. On and on.
Finally I can’t stand it and I ask him why he doesn’t put stuff together so it is easier to put away when I get home and he says, “We gotta divide it out so the bags are equal.”
And I ask him what that has to do with me searching out four bags to get my pears back together and he smiles, “Well, those four bags weigh exactly the same, so they are divided out like I was told.”
I gave it up. It all made perfect sense in his world, he was happy with the solution, and had obviously never had to put any groceries away after someone had bagged his groceries “equally”.
