Financier Bernard Madoff arrives at Manhattan Federal court in New York City. Madoff was led handcuffed to jail Thursday after pleading guilty to tricking thousands of people out of billions of dollars in one of history’s biggest financial scams.

No problem with the knife, Ben had mentioned you wanted it so we boxed it up and mailed it. I told the mail lady at the post office that you were moving away from home one box at a time delivered by the U.S. mail. She laughed and said it was good job security.
Still no break in the cold weather. It has been in the lower 20°s every morning this week so far and never warms up more than to about 30°F. I have really been wanting to ride the scooter but I don’t want to even take a chance on riding it on ice over bridges or overpass. Just call me chicken!
I am finally fully, completely and absolutely over that nasty cold I had last week. I was beginning to wonder if it was ever going to go away! I can breathe again! I snagged the nail on the ring finger on my right hand and ripped it off. It was one of the fingers that had been smashed in the garage door some time ago - well now it is missing about ½ the nail and it is back to being not so good again. You know I can remember how the old ladies of my Grandma Legel’s neighborhood used to clog up the party line on the telephone griping, grouching, moaning and groaning about their surgeries, ailments and frailties. I thought that was just a lot of pity party, now I have joined the party too. Oh Well.

Ashley is on her way to Chicago with Circle of Friends from MHS. She will be visiting the Museum of Science and Industry and then to Woodfield Mall for some shopping. She’ll be home at 9:30 tonight. Sure hope that $$ doesn’t burn a hole in her pocket at the mall! (Actually, I just hope there’s no shoes** on sale!) **This is her Grandma Duvall’s fault!

Haha, yeah, I can see how that works--even they aren’t loud enough to yell across state lines . I’m sure the people at my post office are really curious about what I’m up to, getting knives, leather, and kydex, but oh well, just don’t ship me any fertilizer
