Frances Holmes, 8, center, and brother Jimmy, 10, gaze at dead deer in a crop field northwest of Peoria on Tuesday. Nine deer apparently were killed early Sunday by a single bolt of lightning, a happenstance that animal experts describe as rare.
Michael T. and I enjoyed breakfast together this morning. As usual we discussed many things and found no solutions for any of the problems of the world. Still it is good to have the opportunity to vent our frustrations and share views on things even if we cant change them.
On another note, I have got to find a cooler jacket to wear when I ride my scooter! My leather jacket is just too hot! I hate to ride in shirt sleeves because there would be zero protection in the event of an accident or fall. I dont dwell or obsess about these things but it is something to consider. You are virtually naked and open to injury on a scooter at almost any speed. I have seen road rash and I dont want to catch it.

Well, you could buy a lighter weight or perforated leather jacket and attach thick leather patches to impact points like shoulders and elbows. Also, you could try checking out racing gear, since that tends to breath better and be pretty padded/reinforced, I just dont know how many sizes they have available--most of the people who race motorcycles seem to be smaller than me

Hi Noah => I have seen some nice mesh jackets that have padding and armor in especially placed pockets for elbows, shoulders, etc. 1st I have to find something in a monstrous size 5x (like my two cows worth of leather jacket) and something I can more easily afford. So many of them are over a hundred dollars and you KNOW what a tightwad I am!
