Hysteria About Overblown Flu Dangers

“There is too much hysteria in the country and so far, there hasn’t been that great a danger,” said Congressman Ron Paul, a Republican from Texas. “It’s overblown, grossly so.”
I would never have imagined I would agree with Ron Paul about anything but I agree with him about this flu nonsense. I suppose it is possible it could eventually turn into a real world threat but so far it has been a mountain out of a mole hill.

There are still fewer that a thousand total cases in the whole world and that is such a small number out of the billions in population as to be infinitesimal.

I think the media has hyped it up to the point the health officials must act this way just in case it turns into something serious —— otherwise they fear they would get caught with the “I told you so” nonsense so they don’t correct the media’s exaggerated claims.

I also think all the paper masks are rather silly too. They aren’t going to keep anyone from getting or giving the flu because they don’t filter the air at the level of the size of a virus cell.

What I really fear is that one day soon we will have a REAL threat from a pandemic and nobody will treat it seriously because of this fiasco.
