Alaska Gov. Sarah Failin announces that she is stepping down from her position as Governor in Wasilla, Alaska on Friday July 3rd, 2009. The former Repuglican vice presidential candidate made the surprise announcement, saying she would step down July 26th but didn’t announce her plans.

The metric system is the kind of thing that you can expect from the 60 vote filibuster proof majority Dimocrats now have in the United States Senate.
Seriously? The best argument this GQP moron can come up with is that the Dimocrats wanted to join the rest of the world (forty years ago) in using the metric system?
US, Myanmar, and Liberia are the ONLY countries in the world that don’t use the metric system (not counting the frozen waste of Antarctica).

What a dreary, rainy day yesterday was! We pretty much stayed inside and listened to the rain. Tracey is happy that her pond is full up again.
Mom, DD, Tracey and I went to the Cracked Barrel last evening. We had a very forgetful and chatty waitress. I think I made her nervous —— I wouldn’t know why.
We didn’t go to see any fireworks. It was too wet and we probably wouldn’t have gone anyway —— we’ve seen them before. That sort of things loses its charm when you get old enough to get a stiff neck from watching them.

Yes, yesterday was yucky! We still went to a friend’s house for a cookout and then he always has a fireworks show for his guests. Oh, I’m sure they were totally legal fireworks!
Now that the rain has moved on, I have to try and get 2 yards mowed before starting the cycle all over again! Mine is no big deal, but my dad’s acres is going to be a job I’m sure. I probably should of mowed it Friday after doing Andy’s yard, but......it must of been a “Michael kind of day” That’s the only excuse I have for it anyway.

Yep, the darling hubby has it on his site and I didn’t know it. That was at Hard Rock Park. He makes fun of me because I won’t ride behind him so he jabs me about it all the time. He got a chuckle out of it! Off to waltz with a lawn mower. Guess I’ll do the fun one tomorrow. Love those zero turn ones!
