This 1949 flood-damaged photo released by Herman Leonard Photography, shows Miles Davis at Birdland in New York. The photo was one of 8,000 prints that were destroyed in Leonards New Orleans home when a levee just a few blocks from him home burst open in the wake of Hurricane Katrina. Water seeped in and stopped around the center of the picture where the face was, and mold started to form. The result is beautiful, Leonard says, joking, Its mother nature and Herman Leonard.
Poor Ben had to go see the oral surgeon on his birthday. What fun is that? Poor Dad had to sign the paper saying he would pay 1/2 of the bill, $1,024.00, because the Medical Mafia insurance will only pay 1/2 the bill. Ben goes back again next Tuesday to get his wisdom teeth cut out. Ouch!
We didnt do the cookie cakes and blow out the candles until after Tracey got home from work at 9:30. I think the boys were getting a little nervous that they werent going to get anything at all. We went with cold, hard cash this year. They have been talking about getting new chairs for their computer desks and we didnt want to pick those out so now they can buy what they can afford with what we gave them. They should be able to get something nice enough.
