This 2004 photo released by Herman Leonard Photography is a self-portrait of the photographer Herman Leonard, in New Orleans. Leonard, now 86, captured the odd, intimate moments in the lives of jazz greats, documenting the most fertile period in jazz history in the last half of the 20th century. His subjects range from Louis Armstrong and Duke Ellington to Miles Davis and Billie Holiday.
#Memories Tracey took Ben to the oral surgeon in Peoria. There’s a reason they call nitrous oxide “Laughing Gas”. She said everything went well and she was with him in the recovery room. He was laughing at everything. She brought him home and then went to Pekin to pick up his antibiotics, pain killers and some soft food. We have lots of pudding and apple sauce in the house. His face was numb until late evening but there wasn’t much swelling. He said it didn’t hurt too much and the bleeding pretty much stopped. I hope he is still feeling well today.
