10/21/09 Quote «The Legel Report»
Children today are tyrants.  They contradict their parents,
gobble their food, and tyrannize their teachers.

I’ve always wanted to have
someone to hold,

someone to love.

After having met you.

I’ve changed my mind.
A huge muscular brute with a bad stutter goes to a counter in a department store and asks, “W-w-w-where’s the m-m-m-men’s dep-p-p-partment?”

The clerk behind the counter just looks at him and says nothing.

The man repeats himself a bit louder: “W-w-w-where’s the m-m-m-men’s dep-p-p-partment?”

Again, the clerk doesn’t answer him.

The gargantuan customer, now seething with rage, roars with qall his might: “W-w-w-where’s the m-m-m-men’s dep-p-p-partment?”

And the clerk still ignores him.

Finally, the guy storms off in anger.

The customer who was waiting in line behind the guy asks the clerk, “Why wouldn’t you answer that man’s question?”

The clerk answers, “D-d-d-do you th-th-th-think I w-w-w-want to get b-b-b-beat up?!!”

Is it the weekend yet?!?!?!  Here’s how my night and morning have been...

11 p.m. last night:  Andy comes home and says that his anti lock brake light is on in his car and that he hears scraping sounds.

3 a.m.:  I wake up to Dave snoring and look at the clock to see the time.  There is no time!  For some reason, our bedroom and the bathroom have no electricity.  I go down the basement to see if the breaker is tripped or what.  Well, I can’t find anything wrong with the breakers!  I get Dave up and the poor guy has to put his air cast on, grab the crutches, and literally scoot down the basement steps. He can’t find anything wrong either.

Ashley has to be at the high school this morning to leave for FFA Nationals at 6 a.m.  Thank goodness I woke up at 3!
Her alarm clock doesn’t always go off at the time it is set for.  She doesn’t get back home until 10 or so tonight.

Sure hope I can survive on 3 hours sleep today!!  It is going to be a very long day!  I doubt I will get to bed very early tonight since I will have to pick Ashley up and listen to the day’s events.

Let it be the weekend soon!!!

I went shopping yesterday afternoon and when I got home with the groceries there were about two and a half trillion of those fake lady bugs on our front door.  Half of them made it inside.  And they bite.

I called and made an appointment to take Tracey’s scooter in this Saturday to get a new tire put on.  We could save a few bucks doing it ourselves but decided since we have to take it to town to balance it anyway ...

Holy cow Tammy!  You are up early!  Your comment showed up as I was typing mine and I just saw it!  Sounds like you are having a Monday in the middle of the week.  Our ABS light has been going on and off on the Blazer but no sounds and the brakes work fine ... but I won’t let anybody but me drive it just in case.  I don’t know what to tell you about the electricity except maybe you have a bad breaker?  Hang in there ... maybe you will get a chance for a half hour nap or something?

Got Ashley off to Indiana for FFA!
I just called Ameren/Cilco.  I know they love this, but I was looking on the internet and saw someone had a partial outage and smelled a musty smell a couple of days ahead of it.  Well, we also had a musty smell in the basement a couple of days ago.  I thought it was because I had turned the dehumidifier to 65% instead of 60%.  Ashley came upstairs last night complaining of the smell so I turned the dehumidifier back down.  I didn’t worry too much about it because we’ve had water down there and I’m sure there’s something down there that has been wet and needs to be thrown away!  Actually, I went in search of water over the weekend because it smelled like we were taking on water, but it hadn’t rained.  I also told the lady that they were trimming trees big time right next to us by the cemetary.  They left a piece of tree trunk hanging because one of the wires had grown inside the tree trunk and they couldn’t get it out I guess.  I don’t know who was doing the trimming, but Dave saw them.  (the noise kept him from his nap!)
I put a call into our mechanic too already.  I told Andy to drive Ashley’s car today to school.  I know he has brakes, but I don’t want to chance anything since he drives the twisty, curvy, hilly School St. to ICC.
Oh yea....as Ashley and I were going out the door this morning, she informs me that her phone isn’t working again.  She spilled lemonade on it.  I bought her a new phone Monday night.  I went thru all of the hoops with Verizon and got it activated to her number when her old phone started working.  Of course, she chose the old phone so I had to re-activate the old one.  I guess I’ll be reactivating the new one now!

Phone troubles too!  Sounds like you have had a busy day already and the sun isn’t even up yet ... hang in there!
MjL 21 Oct 2009, 06:40 a.m.
Gee......no electricity in the bathroom.....how to blow dry and curl my hair!!  I guess I will be in the diningroom since there’s a mirror (kind of anyway) to look in!  Oh, what fun!!!  I’m going to go outside and check out the wires coming into the house to see if any are down or something before I jump in the shower.
Hey...at least you have some conversation today!
Tammy 21 Oct 2009, 06:40 a.m.
Well I love conversation but not at your expense!  Hope you get your electricity problems fixed without too much hassle or cost!
MjL 21 Oct 2009, 06:44 a.m.
I survived the day!!!  YEA!!!  I’m a little poorer, but what the heck...you can’t take it with ya!
Andy’s car had an axle in the back rot all the way through.  This unhooked the ABS and ruined the sensor for them.  His back passenger wheel was moving in and out too.  The other back axle was beginning to rot and do the same.  So, he now has 2 new axles in the back.  The ABS sensor isn’t fixed yet, but the car is safe and he does have brakes.  They were surprised that he made it home last night safe and sound.  Guess it’s true:  What you don’t know won’t hurt you!  :)
Let there be light too!!  My good ol’ dad (and mom) came over this afternoon and found the problem.  It was a loose wire in a connection box that goes to our bedroom and bathroom.  Andy helped them find the problem and fix it.  Of course, my house was NOT clean enough for my mother to come over!!!  The dust bunnies far outnumbered them!  :)
Guess I should make it my winter project -- oops, that was last year’s project and it never got done.  If at first you don’t succeed, try, try again I guess!
Tonight and tomorrow WILL be better!

I have been looking around www.mjlegel.com and really am impressed by the great content here. I work the nightshift at my job and it is boring. I have been coming right here for the previous couple nights and reading. I just wanted to let you know that I have been enjoying what I’ve seen and I look forward to reading more.
