03/06/2010 Quote «The Legel Report»
In the end, we will remember not the words of our enemies ...
but the silence of our friends.

A penguin named Sigid is weighed by a zookeeper at the zoo in the central German city of Hanover. The zoo is counting and weighing animals as it conducts an annual inventory.

A little boy was doing his math homework.  He said to himself, “Two plus five, that son of a bitch is seven.  Three plus six, that son of a bitch is nine....”

His mother heard what he was saying and gasped, “What are you doing?”

The little boy answered, “I’m doing my math homework, Mom.”

“And this is how your teacher taught you to do it?” the mother asked.

“Yes,” he answered.

Infuriated, the mother asked the teacher the next day, “What are you teaching my son in math?”

The teacher replied, “Right now, we are learning addition.”

The mother asked, “And are you teaching them to say two plus two, that son of a bitch is four?”

After the teacher stopped laughing, she answered, “What I taught them was, two plus two, THE SUM OF WHICH, is four.”

I had breakfast with Michael T. yesterday morning.  We discussed the current state of disarray in America today and shared our disdain for politics and politicians.  I added to that my recent disgust with the bureaucracy that surrounds getting A&B into ICC.

Tracey closed the clinic yesterday so I didn’t see much of her.  She was gone when I got home from breakfast and didn’t get home until almost 10 p.m.  She has been interviewing for a new technician and is frustrated about making a choice.  I don’t envy her that ... it has to be difficult to hire somebody based on a half hour conversation with them and a dubious resume you don’t have the ability to verify.

I finally finished up our income taxes and mailed them off so I could complete the student grants & loans application.  I am sure we can qualify to borrow money but I have my doubts about getting any other financial assistance.
