Sometimes I really wish I had written some of my observations down and mailed them to myself to timestamp them before the silly doctors finally get around to actually studying the harm they do.
The stoplight on the corner buzzes when its safe to cross the street. I was crossing with an intellectually-challenged coworker of mine when she asked if I knew what the buzzer was for. I explained that it signals blind people when the light is red.
Appalled, she responded, What on earth are blind people doing driving?!
A lawyer and an engineer were fishing in the Caribbean. The lawyer said, Im here because my house burned down, and everything I owned was destroyed by the fire. The insurance company paid for everything.
Thats quite a coincidence, said the engineer. Im here because my house and all my belongings were destroyed by a flood, and my insurance company also paid for everything.
The lawyer looked somewhat confused and said, How do you start a flood?
Im still not right with this time change. Hopefully my body clock will get straightened out by the end of the week! I got up and went back to bed a couple times yesterday morning and Tracey just slept right through until 11 a.m.
We went computer shopping for her birthday and finally settled on a 15 inch Dell laptop from Staples. She had originally wanted something lighter and smaller but the smaller ones didnt have an optical drive and she didnt want to have to buy that separate and lug it around too if she wanted to use a drive. I was surprised that Staples sold the Dell cheaper than Dell did ... even cheaper than Wal-mart too. We spent the afternoon getting the thing set up for her email, browser favorites, etc. It has Windows 7 on it and I am thoroughly disgusted with it. They rearranged all the menus again, of course, and didnt add any functionality that I could see. Just more restrictions on what you can do and more hidden menus. They keep trying to dumb the operating system down and it just makes it more difficult to get anything done in the long run.

I was curious how long Tracey had her old laptop and after going back through my email archive I found the order for her original Happy Birthday computer was back in 2003 ... so the thing really is old in computer years!
