Dead Redbud Tree

03 May 2010, 5:02 a.m.
I started cutting on the junk tree that was growing under our deck in back but I’m too fat to get far enough under there so Tracey crawled in and cut it the rest of the way. She drilled some holes in it and we dumped some full strength Roundup in the holes and hopefully that will be the end of it. We also saw some other nasty big weeds and stuff trying to grow under there so Tracey decided to spray them too.

While she was doing that I hooked the Blazer to the tow cable and pulled down the dead redbud tree in front of the house. (Pictures above) I hauled it off and dumped it back on the far corner of our property in the “habitat” pile.

When I got back to the house Tracey was all excited. She had been spraying the weed killer around the back of the house by the “old” pond and she saw “a big snake”! So she was done spraying weeds. In fact she left the sprayer on the patio back there in her haste to escape that scary snake and I need to remember to put it away. I’m tempted to find one of the old rubber snakes the boys used to have around here and stick it under her pillow or something —— but she might get even if I did that!
