It took Tracey a while to track down the owner of this nest above the light on our back patio. It looks similar to a barn swallow nest but is made with a lot of moss. She finally tracked down the identity with the help of her bird book. It is the nest of an Eastern Phoebe which, like our swallows, eats a lot insects. Perfect place to live right above the pond.
More thunderstorms last night. I just returned home from taking Tracey to work. I was tempted to stop for breakfast but managed to convince myself that was a bad idea. There are just no low calorie options for breakfast at most places. And I was over my limit again yesterday so I need to make an effort to be good.

#BreakfastMichaelT Breakfast yesterday with Michael T. was fun. We didnt get into quite as many political discussions as usual but enough to reaffirm our basic belief that society is indeed messed up on many issues of the day.

Good morning! We now are the proud owners of the same signs you had awhile back...those Road Recovery of America signs or whatever they say! They are doing Main St. downtown.
I dont think we needed that road done, but what do I know! I know they are supposed to redo 150 sometime this summer too. There are some parts of that road that actually could use some help. I wonder if well get to see another one of the wonderful signs!
I feel like Tracey....frustrated! With all of this rain, I cant get the rest of the garden in! Go away for a few days rain!

Hi Tammy, Here is some more road work announced in the Journal Star:
Roadwork will cause lane closures on Illinois Route 9 from Olt Avenue in Pekin to Chestnut Street in Tremont, beginning Wednesday.
Patching, milling and resurfacing work is expected to be completed in September.
