21/2 miles
I noticed a older lady with a very young boy of about three years or so.
They were on one of the docks at the edge of the lagoon. The woman was
yakking on her cell phone and paying absolutely no attention to the boy.
If that little boy fell into the lagoon there wouldn’t be a darn thing that old
woman could do but scream about it and I’m not so sure she would have even
noticed unless he did a lot of screaming himself. I was relieved to see
they had moved further from the lagoon when I passed them on my next lap.
There were quite a few smokers among the walkers this morning. I
probably wouldn’t have thought anything about it when I was still smoking ——
but it seems odd now to see people evidently walking for their health while
puffing on a cigarette.
A different person was cleaning up the duck poop. She was using a
broom dipped in the lagoon to sweep the goo around. She was complaining to
some guy standing next to her that the old fellow who does it most times just
“scoops at it” with a shovel. She is right. But then he comes back
with a hose and hoses all that’s left off the walk. She just kind of
smears it around with her broom but I guess she thinks she’s doing a better
job. People are different. A couple laps later this lady was using a
net to scoop sticks and leaves out of the pond and grumbling how nobody does
that right either. I’m thinking she must have a swimming pool at home and
thinks the leaves shouldn’t be in the lagoon? The only things I would like
to see scooped out of the lagoon are the bloated dead fish that smell very
loud.
I took a picture of a tree that is beginning to turn color already.
And another of the gangplank somebody made for the ducks to get out of the
water. Guess that would be a duckplank?
LLAP,
Michael
