9:25 a.m. 2¹/₃ miles (Guesstimation from Google)

I drove to Pekin and parked just off Parkway Rd. to walk the Pekin Park District’s “Trail”. I am only guessing at how far I walked because there are no maps at the Park or explanation of where you are at or where you are going. There are mile markers on the pavement but nothing to tell you from where or to where. I walked the stretch between Parkway Rd. and Allentown Rd. I’m not sure whether I will try the path west of Parkway or not —— that may be a little more city walking than I am ready for.

 

My brother Alan called when I was about ¹/₂ way through. He wanted to know if we could walk together but since I was already out and about we will have to try it another time.

 

I noticed more than a little dog crap along the way so I would say it is a popular place for the city kids to walk their messy animals.

 

All in all though it is a nice peaceful walk with just about the right amount of ups and downs.
